The Four Types of Teeth

   
       
           

1. **Incisors** (The Cutters)

           
                   
  • **Where they are:** Right at the **front** of your mouth (top and bottom).
  •                
  • **Shape:** **Flat** and sharp like little chisels.
  •                
  • **Job:** To **cut** and **chop** food, like taking a bite out of an apple!
  •

2. **Canines** (The Tearing Teeth)

           
                   
  • **Where they are:** On the sides of your incisors (the corners).
  •                
  • **Shape:** **Pointed** and strong, like a friendly vampire tooth!
  •                
  • **Job:** To **tear** and **hold** onto tough foods, like meat.
  •

3. **Premolars** (The Crushers)

           
                   
  • **Where they are:** Behind your canines (you're starting to go to the back of your mouth).
  •                
  • **Shape:** Bigger and stronger with ridges for **crushing**.
  •                
  • **Job:** To start **crushing** and **grinding** food into smaller pieces.
  •

4. **Molars** (The Grinders)

           
                   
  • **Where they are:** All the way at the **very back** of your mouth.
  •                
  • **Shape:** The largest teeth! They have a big, **flat** surface with lots of ridges.
  •                
  • **Job:** To do the final **grinding** and **mashing** of your food before you swallow.
